Half way home!
Man there was some craziness in our room before we left Shanghai. As Cole and I packed, the kid's ran and played so hard. We had been trying to keep the noise level down all week but this time it seemed better to just let them get their energy out since we knew that we were going to need them to be still on the flight.
As I was getting the bags packed, I walked around the corner and found this....
Harper eventually emptied everything I had packed. I finally got her to leave the bags alone and then she moved to the sitting area.
This is what I found next...
And then this...
Then Camden got involved and started spinning them and throwing them on the bed. It was really getting loud by now. But they sure were having fun!
When I pulled Elon's hair back into a ponytail, Harper pulled her's up on top of her head and wanted me to do hers. She kept pointing and saying something, but I got the point. We added the bow to top it off. Oh my goodness, she looked like Pebbles.
The airplane ride was uneventful. Elon looked like a pro and she actually fell asleep after about 20 minutes (which was wonderful). Harper colored pretty much the entire flight. She was so good.
So now we are in Guangzhou to do the medical exam, get Harper's visa, etc. - this is for the American side of things. We are now half way to coming home!
The kids were so good at the medical exam appointment. It took a long time, we were there for over 2 hours! Harper was very brave, she was very quiet, no smiles, but there were also no tears - not even for the TB test (small needle).
This picture cracked me up! It really shows how each child was feeling...
Elon - Silly Harper - Quiet Camden - Bored
Then we were able to see some of the neat buildings in Guangzhou. There are some very futuristic looking building's in China. This is the theater - it looked like a giant spaceship.
And this is the tallest tower in all of China. Camden was holding it up with his little finger :)
We did find out this morning that Harper is a typical 5 year old and can be quite feisty. We found out that she does not like to be told no. Imagine that?!? She melted down after not getting to have Elon's toothbrush - and refused to brush her teeth. Then melted down after being told not to climb up on the back of the chair and then up into the window seal - she kept trying to do it after being told over and over again not to - and did receive a firmer "no". We got the guide to explain to her that we did not want her to get hurt - Harper told our guide that she did not like to be told no.
Hmmm?
Ummmmm???
Uh oh.
The re-training begins :)

Oh Lordy.....let the games begin! Her comment about being told "no" makes me laugh. I'm sure it's not so funny on your end though. :). Love all these pics. So happy you're in GZ!! Almost home now!!
Harpers "pebbles" look is too funny. I did notice it was not like that on the plane ;)
Love you all!!
