Our tradition
When Cole and I got married our Christmas tree looked quite pitiful. Most newly wed couples do not have an abundance of ornaments. So we decided that we would buy an ornament for our kids each Christmas and one day we will give them these awesome keepsakes to start their first tree. Some are just cute ornaments, but we usually try to find ones that remind us of our children for that year.
Going through their old ornaments is our kid's favorite part of decorating for Christmas. They each have their own tupperware bin with each of their ornaments wrapped and boxed - each box is labeled with the year. They are so gentle with their ornaments, hanging each in a special place. They each have their favorite!
When we started this, we never thought it would mean this much to our kid's. I am so glad that we have this tradition.
Here are 2012's ornaments...

CASE
"When Pig's Fly"
So perfect for him right now!
CAMDEN
Always wanting to drink Coke
(as you can tell, it is not like he need's it!)
ELON
A watermelon!!!
This is the only word she still says in Mandarin -
plus it is her favorite fruit :)
HARPER
If you read earlier in our blog, Harper had asked for a white bunny when she came home.
That has not happened yet :) So this is not the white bunny she was probably hoping for
but she sure loved the ornament!

I had friends growing up that did this! Such a fun tradition!
We do this too - so fun :)
Thanks so much for sharing your lives! I started following your blog while you were in China adopting Harper, and my 2.5 year old daughter saw the pictures of Elon and Harper one day, and now she LOVES to come to your blog and read about them and see their pictures. Out of all the blogs I follow, hers is the only one she asks about, and she loves to see your girls :)
