postheadericon Birthday #2 - Harper is 6!

Now for Harper's birthday...And her first birthday home with us!  This is such a special one....

She woke up the morning of her birthday, and before her eyes were all the way open, she was announcing "It's my Birthday"!  I can not begin to explain how excited she was about her birthday...

Can't you just see it in her face???
Elon and Harper were given a (rather large) tent for their birthdays from one of their favorite people, Mrs. Mangum, so I let them sleep in it, which probably added to the excitement.  They LOVE this tent!

It is also where Harper opened her gifts from her brother's and sister.

Harper remembered the cake we had sent her in China, and even though it was not her birthday when she received it...they put a candle in it and must have sang "Happy Birthday" to her.  She kept telling me that she had a birthday before..."Remember mommy? You and daddy sent me a cake!"  Here are some pictures of her receiving her cake from us in China...

I think she has gotten a little better at blowing out a candle (or maybe a little more excited)!!
Now for the birthday party...
I have to admit that I go a little over board for all of my children's "first" birthday.  It started with Case, and now every one of my children will have a very special "first" birthday.

For those of you who have gotten to know Harper, may have an idea of what her favorite thing is in the whole world...
CANDY!!
I think it was the first English word she spoke :)

So she had a candy party!  Since I have been trying to limit her sweet intake since she has been home I figured this would be the best birthday party for HER!

She loved it!!
She was so excited that her favorite people came and celebrated her - most of them anyway, unfortunately, some of her favorite people live in Florida and that is a little too far to travel :(

Her two little cousins had to suffer through the girlie party but they did not seem to mind...
How cute are they?

But I think her favorite thing was actually the presents!  We did things her way and she opened the presents first :)

Thomas wanting to help out :)

She became bashful when everyone sang to her....

She really enjoyed the chocolate covered strawberries...yum!

And some painting...amazingly not one drop of paint on my dining room chairs!

Celebrating her is very easy....
Happy Birthday sweet girl,
We love you so much!!!

Zephaniah 3:17

The Lord your God is with you.
He is a hero who saves you.
        He happily rejoices over you,
            renews you with his love,
and celebrates over you with shouts of joy.

postheadericon Elon's Baptism

This is a little out of order but I just couldn't wait....Our Elon was baptized this past weekend!
Elon had prayed and asked Jesus into her heart several months ago when she was on a date
with her daddy...The picture below was the actual night!
I had snapped some pictures before they left for their date :)
(they were being silly and looking at each other crossed eyed)

So recently she had been asking about getting baptized.  After lots of questions and a baptism class...she was ready!  Only fitting that her daddy was the one who got to baptize her.

The water was just a little cold (if you couldn't tell by Cole's face)...

We are so proud of you Elon and the decision you have made!
My daughter is a queen,
she is wrapped in God's majesty,
she literally shouts His name,
She has victory,
She is brave and she is free.

God did not let her be defeated.

I took these words from a song that I have been hearing every time I have gotten in my car recently...literally EVERY time.  On the way to take the kids to school, when I go to pick them up, (and everywhere in-between), on my son's iPod (he LOVES this song),
even on his friend's iPod!  I am being surrounded by this song :)

I absolutely love this song and it has even more meaning after this weekend...
So thankful for what God is doing in Elon's life!

postheadericon Birthday #1 & all about Elon!

The first birthday we celebrated in April was our little Elon.  She is now seven!  This little girl is so full of personality and has really become her own person.  She keeps us on our toes and also keeps us laughing...constantly!  She was excited to get a "big girl" bike for her birthday...
Elon wanted a "Friend" birthday this year, so we had her party at a local place to celebrate.  She is my most social child and she really enjoyed having this time with all her friends and cousins...

Cute cousin Levi :)

One thing we are figuring out is Elon is not a frilly girl, and even though she is fine with a bow in her hair and enjoys a pretty dress on occasion - she prefers bikes, the color blue, soccer, and even superhero's!  One of her friends gave her some power rangers for her birthday
and it was her favorite gift...Lol :)

Here are some pictures of her in action on the soccer field (before I took the bow out).  She really loves playing and is not afraid of the ball or afraid to get into the action!

Camden stealing Harper's chair to watch the game...stinker!

Also this month Elon and her daddy planted a garden.  Cole is doing something special with each of the kids to spend one-on-one time with them.  He and Case are getting certified for Scuba diving.  He is hunting with Camden, and Elon's choice was to plant tomatoes.  This was Cole's first garden attempt but he loved doing this with her.  He is even more motivated since Elon told him that she wanted to give all her tomatoes to people who did not have any food.  How sweet is that???  I love this little girl :)

These are the labels Cole printed for "Elon Farms"

Happy Birthday sweet girl!  We love you so much :)

postheadericon A bit behind...but here is Easter!

April has been a busy month to say the least.  I have not even posted pictures from Easter!
Before I begin posting all the birthday fun for the month of April, I wanted to post a few picture's from Harper's first Easter.  We spent Easter with Cole's family at Fripp Island and had a great time.  Even though it was pretty cold, we were able to go swimming - which Harper has been asking to do since she went swimming in China.  She loved it!

Easter Day pictures....

Camera dodging....once again!

We told him we would not stop taking pictures until we got a good one :)

Harper was an egg hunting pro...as if she had done this before!  I think she would have knocked a few people out of her way to get to her egg :)

It was our sweet nephews first Easter too!

Harper trying to steal candy from Elon's basket :)

One of our few beach moments...

These three are best buds!  They are awesome together :)

Such a fun time!!!
